Morning visit Ohel David Synagogue, established in 1867, built by the Sasoon family. Also visit Succath Shelmo Synagogue established in 1921, the foundation stone of which was laid in 1919. Day 09 : Delhi - Agra
Morning drive to Agra (203 kms / 4 hrs). Upon arrival transfer to the Hotel. Later visit Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal, in 1632. Later proceed to Agra Fort, built by the great Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 10 : Agra - Delhi - Kolkata 
Morning drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival transfer to the Airport to connect flight IC 264 dep. at 17:00 hrs arrive Calcutta at 18:55 hrs. Upon arrival transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Morning visit Neveh Shalome Synagogue established in 1825, the first Synagogue in Calcutta and rebuilt in 1911. After a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (9,300 ft), the trek begins through the trails that wind slowly downwards to touch the Dudhkoshi River passing through fragrant forests of juniper, blue pine and fir. This trek through Sherpa-land offers an insight into their unique mountain culture and lifestyle. Known for their feats of courage and endurance on the world's highest mountains, for their understanding, hardiness and sense of humour, the Sherpas are indispensable in managing treks. Between 12,000 ft and 14,000 ft birch and rhododendron trees predominate. On the way the rare musk deer, the national bird of Nepal -the colorful Daphne pheasant, the Ghoral, the Himalayan wolf and the black Bear and endangered species like the snow leopard, the red Panda are sometimes spotted. 

Day 01 : Kathmandu

Day 02 : Kathmandu 
In the morning take a walking tour of old Kathmandu City following the old path across Vishnumati River to Swayambhunath. In the afternoon visit the two-tiered golden temple - Pashupatinath -the holiest temple for the Hindus and Bodhnath -the largest Buddhist stupa. 

Day 03 : Kathmandu 
Full day visit of Patan and Bhaktapur, the two ancient capital cities of Nepal with their royal Durbar Squares.

Day 04 : Kathmandu - Nagarkote 
Drive to Nagarkote (34 km / 1.5 hrs) (Alt 2100 m), set on a ridge above Kathmandu with a panoramic view of the great Himalayan peaks including Annapurna, Fishtail, Everest and Kanchendzonga.

Trek for 6 hours to reach Namche Bazaar (11,300ft) 

Day 09 : Namche Bazaar - Thyangboche 
A 5 hours trek will take you to Thyangboche (12,700ft.)- a great cultural and religious center for the people of the Everest region.

Day 10 : Thyangboche 
Free day at Thyangboche to explore the area and the Thyangboche monastery. Views of major peaks of Mt. Everest (29,028ft.), Lhotse (27,932ft.), Nuptse (25,764ft.), Ama Dablam (22,343ft.) and Cho-Oyu (26,900ft.) from here are simply awe-inspiring. 

Day 11 : Thyangboche - Jorsale 
Trek 6 hours Irom Thyangboche to Jorsale (9,200ft.) via Syangboche village. 

Day 12 : Jorsale - Lukla 
Walk 5 hours from Jorsale to Lukla. 

Day 13 : Lukla - Kathmandu 
Fly back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.

Full day sight-seeing tour of the monasteries - Hemis, Shey and Thikse. The Hemis gompa is the highest monastery in Ladakh and contains gold status. Stupas decorated with precious stones and any priceless old Thankas. Shey gompa is situated in the ruins of the old palace of the kings of Ladakh. Thikse gompa is built on the model of the Potala palace in Lhasa in several levels of construction. It contains the three storeyed statue of the Maithriya Buddha, the future Buddha. Overnight Leh.

Day 03 : Leh 
Morning sight-seeing of Leh palace, Shantistupa and Shanker Gompa. Afternoon drive to Stok across the river indus to see the Stok palace. Evening free to explore the bazaar overnight Leh. 

Day 04 : Leh - Uleytokpo
Drive to Uleytokpo (2hrs), enroute visit Likir and Phyang monastense. Uleytokpo is famous for its apricot orchards. Camp/hotel is set on the banks of the river indus in the apricot orchards.

Arrive Cochin at 06:35 hrs. Later visit Jew Town and the Pardesi Synagogue. This Synagogue was built by Samuel Castiel, David Belila, Ephrahim Sala and Joseph Levi. It stands on the grounds of the Maharaja of Cochin's residence. It is the first Synagogue which came into existence in the commonwealth and is one of the oldest in the world. Overnight in hotel.

Day 02 : Colombo / Anuradha Pura / Giritale (206 kms, 4.1/2 hrs)
After breakfast at hotel morning at 0800 hrs proceed to Anuradhapura. Arrive at A'pura at around 1300 hrs and commence a sightseeing tour of A'pura. A'pura founded in the 05th century B.C. has the largest number of ancient monuments of the Great Sinhala civilzation which flourished in the region. Taking pride of this place is the "Bo Tree" which is over 2,200 years old grown from a branch of the very tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment - The oldest historically documented tree in the world. Day 03 : Giritale / Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa / Giritale 
Morning at 0800 hrs proceed to Sigiriya. Climb the Sigiriya rock fortress and view the famous frescoes painted in a rock pocket and also see the mirror wall and proceed to Polonnaruwa at 1500 hrs. Commence a sightseeing tour of Polonnaruwa visit the ruins of the audience hall, council chamber, the royal citadel, the Kumara Pokuna (pond) Royal Pavillion, Siva Dewale, the Thuparama, the Vatadage relic house, Kiriwehera, Gal Vihare with some of the most impressive sculptures, the reservoirs etc., and return to Giritale. Day 04 : Giritale / Kandy
Morning at 0800 hrs proceed to Kandy, Sri Lanka's hill capital. Enroute visit Dambulla rock cave temple like Sigiriya , Dambulla rock temple is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that King Valagambahu took refuge in the 01st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. Some of the frescoes found here are over 2,000 years old and there is a colossal figure of the recumbent Buddha carved out of the living rock some 14 metres long. Visit a spice garden at Matale and a wood carving factory and also visit a batik factory. Continue to Kandy at around 1430 hrs check in at your hotel in Kandy. Late evening visit Dalada Maligawa where the temple of the sacred tooth relic of "The Buddha" is enshrined and thereafter view a cultural performance depicting the low and country dancers and return to hotel. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kandy. 

Day 05 : Kandy / Pinnewala / Colombo
Morning at commence a sightseeing tour of kandy. Visit the Peradeniya Botanical gardens, where you can view a rare collection of tropical, exotic and indigenous flora, and the famous orchid house. Drive around the upper lake drive and the picturesque university campus buildings of traditional Sinhalese architecture, visit the market place and the arts crafts centre and return to hotel. Check out from hotel at 1300 hrs. leave for Colombo. Enroute visit Pinnawala elephant orphanage. witness feeding of elephants including baby elephants who are being fed with milk bottles and thereafter view bathing of elephants. Continue to Colombo. Day 01 : Arrive Paro 
Assembled at IGI Airport to board Druk Air flight for Paro. The flight into Paro can be truly described as a flight into fantasy. A first hand, close up view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchejunga and other famous peaks become a reality. On arrival you will be met by our representative and then drive to hotel to freshen up and have lunch. After lunch to see the ruins of Drugyel Dzong, the fort of the victorious drukpas, as it was here that the Tibetans were defeated and driven back, though it is now ruins due to a fire. Drive back to see the local shops, Dinner and overnight at hotel. 

Day 02 : Paro to Thimphu 
In the morning visit the National Museum which houses ancient weapons and artifacts and housed in an ancient watchtower. You can get a good view of the Paro Rimpung Dzong from here. Then drive to Thimpu (approx. 02hrs), the Capital of Bhutan which lies at an elevation of 7,500 feet in a fertile valley traversed by the Thimphu- Chhu river. Check in to hotel. Visit the Great Memorial Chorten built in memory of his late Majesty, King lime Dorje Wangchuk by his mother, the royal grandmother, the Tashichho Dzong in the evening when the monks are in Punakha National Assembly. A visit to the handicrafts Emporium, to see the exquisite artistry of traditional crafts and textiles. At leisure in town for shopping. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 03 : Thimphu to Punakha /Wangdi back to Thimphu 
After an early breakfast drive over Dochula pass 3100 m where you can a really beautiful view of the snow capped mountaintops to Punakha valley the old capital of Bhutan. Here you can visit the dzong only when the monks are in Thimphu and see the local town. Then a short drive takes you to the wangdiphodrang valley just local shops. Then drive back to Thimphu. Dinner and overnight at hotel. 

Day 04 : Thimphu 
Morning visit the National Library which hosts a vast collection of ancient Buddhist 

Manuscripts, the School of Thangkha Painting and the Traditional Medicine Institute, Lunch. A visit to the Post office where you can a get a beautiful collection of stamps. Day 01 : Flight Kathmandu -Lhasa
Transfer to the airport for the flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa. This one hour Trans Himalayan Flight will give you an opportunity to have an aerial view of the Mt. Everest and other Himalayan Peaks (weather permitting). Arrival at Gonggar airport around 13.30 hrs. local time. After clearing immigration and customs it will be a two hour drive to cover the 93 km. to Lhasa which is situated at an altitude of 3650 meters (13,000ft). Upon arrival we check in at the hotel. 

Day 02 : Lhasa 
We visit the Potala palace, Drepung and Sera monasteries, the Norbulinka and of course the famous Jokhang temple including the surrounding Barkhor.

Day 04 : Lhasa -Gyantse 
You begin your overland adventure with a full day drive to Gyantse. Along the way you cross the Kamba la (4794m) and the Karo la pass (5010m), both grant spectacular views. After the Kamba la you come to Yamdrok tso, also known as the Turquoise Lake. You'll want to have your camera ready. Altitude 3900 m. 
Day 05 : Gyantse -Shigatse 
This will be a busy day. In the morning visit Gyantse stupa and monastery followed by a two hour drive to Shigatse. Here see the giant Buddha in the famous Tashilumpo monastery. The seat of the Panchen Lama. Altitude 3800 m. 

Day 06 : Shigatse - Lhatse 

The journey today brings you over two high passes with fine views. For lunch we stop in the small town of Lhatse. Depending on how much time we spend during the morning in Shigatse we might stay overnight in Lhatse. Altitude 4350 m. / 4000m. 

Day 07 : Lhatse -Rombuk 
The tour begins with the Tsho La (4500m) and ends with the spectacular view of Mt. Everest from Rombuk monastery. Relax tonight and stroll around the monastery. Altitude 5050m. Hotel 

Day 08 : Rombuk - Lao Tingri 
Get up early and start the 2-3 hour leisurely walk (one way) to the base-camp (5200m) itself. You should return early afternoon to head to Lao Tingri. Location : The wildlife sanctuary is located in the south west part of the peninsular state of Gujrat and is 42 km from Junagadh, a city in Gujrat.
Best time to visit : Though the sanctuary can be visited throughout the year the best time to visit is between the months of November and June.

The Park
Gir Wildlife sanctuary, situated in the southwestern region of Gujarat covers around 116 square-miles of area and was built to protect the last wild population of Lion beyond the regions of Africa. During 1913 the population of Lion fell drastically to just 20 animals but now the numbers have risen to around 300, which was the result of the conservation efforts. Earlier the royal hunting grounds of the Nawab of Junagadh, The Gir National Park was later earmarked as a protected forest by the concerned Government bodies. 

The Gir National Park also has a healthy population of other animal species too. The park offers many excellent drives through scenic areas. In 1966, 600 square kilometers were initially demarcated as the Gir forest area, which was later increased to 1150 square kilometers. The park with it's core area of approximately 300 square kilometers was officially declared a national park in 1975. 

How to reach :
Air : the nearest airport is Keshod via Veraval is 90 km from Gir and there are daily flights from mumbai to Keshod. 
Rail : The meter gauge rail line of 395-kms from Ahemdabad is the nearest rail connection from Gir.
Road : Gir is located at a distance of 400-kms from Ahmedabad via Rajkot, Junagadh and Mendarda and state transport buses are readily available from Junagadh and Veraval to Gir, between the months of November and June.

Wildlife attractions :

The Flora : The Gir National Park is mainly occupied by deciduous forest where the various varieties of trees are teak, flame of the forest, Acacia and Banyan trees. There is peculiar kind of vegetation along the main rivers and streams where species like the Jambu, Karanj, Umro, Vad, Kalam, Charal, Sirus and Amli are found. The main features of the trees are that they have broad leaves and are evergreen, giving the area a cool shade and moisture content to the environment.
The Fauna : Gir wildlife sanctuary consists of a large population of Lions and the second most common predator found in the forests of Gir is Leopard. According to the surveys conducted amongst all the sanctuaries it has been found that, Gir national park houses one of the largest population of Leopards in the country.
There are other animals also found in the Gir national park such as Sambar Deer, Chital Spotted Deer, Nilgai Antelope, Chowsingha Four-Horned Antelope, Chinkara Gazelle, Wild Boar, Langur Monkey, Jackal, and Hyena.
The Avifauna : The various birds found in gir are Paradise Flycatcher, Bonneli's Eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, Woodpeckers

Jeep safari : The two commonly found predators in the sanctuary can be easily spotted at dawn or dusk when they are on their prowl and the best way to view the wild animals in the sanctuary is by driving via jeep around the forest.

The Park
Periyar wildlife sanctuary owns a beautiful, placid lake at its centre. This reservoir meanders around the contours of the wooded hills formed with the building of a dam in 1895 and presents a permanent source of water for the local wildlife. Periyar Wildlife sanctuary is mainly known for its tiger reserve though many tourists come here to see the Indian elephants in the act of ablution and playfulness by the Periyar lake. The four species of primates found at Periyar are the rare lion-tailed macaque, the Nilgiri Langur, Common Langur and Bonnet Macaque. Birds : The birdlife consists of Darters, Cormorants, Kingfishers, the great Malabar Hornbill and racket-tailed Drongoes.

About Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary or the Keoladeo Ghana National Park is one of the best bird parks in the world that extends protection to fauna (animal) species also. Bharatpur national park houses more than 300 species of birds and Keoladeo, the name of the sanctuary is derived from an ancient Hindu temple, devoted to Lord Shiva, which is located at the centre of the park. The Park

The Flora : The park is dominated by old Banyan Trees, Dhok Pipal trees, clusters of mango trees. The terrain comprises of massive rock formations, steep scarps, perennial lakes and streams and forest giving way to large areas of Savannah. The terrain of the sanctuary ranges from impregnable dense forests to open bush lands. The prime vegetation in the forest is the typically dry deciduous type, with Dhok, being the most common tree. 

The Fauna : The Park is known for the wild Tigers and is a favorite with photographers. Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary has a great variety of flora and fauna. Tigers, “the pride of the park” makes it one of the best places in the country to observe them. Besides Tigers, a large numbers of Sambar, Chital, Nilgai, Gazzelle, Boars, Mongoose, Indian Hare, Monitor Lizards and a large number of birds can be seen in the park.

Annamalai Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu, closer to Kodaikanal in the Palani hills, is better known for its Lion-tailed Macaques (black-maned Monkeys). The wetlands of the coast provide perfect resting places for migratory birds, whose numbers soar during the winter monsoon at Vedathangal, near Chennai, and Point Calimere. 

History of Tamilnadu
Tamil Nadu was ruled by three major dynasties-the Cholas in the east, the Pandyas in the central area and Cheras in the west. This was during the Sangam Age-the classical period of Tamil literature-that continued for some 300 years after the birth of Christ. The Pallava dynasty was influential particularly in the 7th and 8th centuries, the testimonies to which are the monuments at Mamallapuram. 

In the 13th century, with threats of Muslim invasions from the north, the southern Hindu dynasties combined and the empire of Vijaynagar (also spelt as Vijayanagar), which covered all of South India, became firmly established. However, by the 17th century, due to the disintegration of the Vijaynagar Empire, various small rulers like the Nayaks ruled southern India. 

By the middle of the 18th century, there were frequent conflicts between the British, French, Danes, and Dutch due to their interest in these areas. The British were finally victorious, while small pocketed areas including Pondicherry and Karaikal remained under French control. Under the British rule, most of south India was integrated into the region called the Madras Presidency. In 1956, the Madras Presidency was disbanded and Tamil Nadu was established.

Day 04 : Thimphu - Tongsa 
The journey to central Bhutan starts today. After an early breakfast leave for Tongsa as the drive may take about 7 to 8 hours. On the way you will drive over Dochula pass 31 00 m from here you can get beautiful mountain views on a clear day. Packed lunch on the way at Chendebji Chorten Dinner and overnight at lodge. 

Day 05 : Tongsa - Bumthang 
In the morning visit the Ta Dzong or watchtower for the Tonga Dzong in the early days. From Tongsa a 2 hrs drive will get you to Bumthang the holiest valley in Bhutan. In Bumthang you can visit the Wangdichholing Dzong. Peling Sermon Chhorten, Palrithang, New Ura Thankhang (monastery), and the Member Tsho (flaming lake). Day 06 : Bumthang - Punakha 
After an early breakfast leave for Punakha the old capital of Bhutan approximately 7 hours drive. Visit the dzong when the monk body is in Thimphu (winter months) and local town.

Leave early for Paro about 3 hours. There visit the National Museum, which houses ancient weapons and artifacts and housed in an ancient watchtower.

Some of the frescoes found here are over 2,000 years old and there is a colossal figure of the recumbent Buddha carved out of the living rock some 14 metres long. Drive out to the countryside and visit some Kuttya Kondh and Rasul Kondh villages. The Kondhs are noted for their colourful ceremonies, until stopped by the British they used to practice human sacrifice, this is now replaced by animal sacrifice at the time of planting their crops to ensure a good harvest. Return for overnight at Rayagada or Bissam Cuttack.

Day 08 : Bissam Cuttak - Jeypore
Visit Chatikona to see the Dongariya Khond marker, which is held on Wednesdays. Stay at the hotel.

Day 09 : Jeypore
Drive out to visit the local Bonda and Godhaba marker, which is held on Thursdays. The Bondas, known as 'naked people' are of Tibetan-Burmese origin. They live in the hills coming in to the towns on market days. Women wear only a loincloth, long rows of beads and heavy metal neckbands
Day 10 : Jeypore - Rayagada

This morning visit the Gupteswar cave and some local Dhuruba villages. In the afternoon drive via Koraput to visit the tribal museum and continue to Rayagada to stay at the hotel Swagat. 

Day 11 : Rayagada - Gopalpur-on-Sea
Drive down to Gopalpur-on -Sea.

Day 12 : Gopalpur-on-Sea
At leisure. The Oberoi Palm Beach is small relaxing character hotel with nice gardens, a bar and restaurant. No pool, but the hotel has a private beach.

Day 13 : Gopalpur - Bhubaneswar to Delhi
Early this morning transfer by car to Bhubaneswar for your return flight to Delhi.

Leave for Rishikesh which is 226 kms - 6 hrs. Means the "Plaits of the sage". It is said that a great sage, Raivya Rishi meditated among the mountains where he saw vision of God. It is an altitude of 365 meters on the right bank of the Ganga and today it has become a centre of learning and research in yoga and meditation as an instrument of Mental Physical health. Sightseeing in Rishikesh. Later drive to Shivpuri.

Shivpuri - An experience by itself - with idylic surrounding gushing pure waters of the sacred river Ganges in forested hilly area and white sandy beaches- A truly unparalleled holiday. Overnight in Shivpuri.

Day 03 : Rafting from Shivpuri to Rishikesh.

Drive back to Delhi and check into hotel in Delhi

Day 03 : Jagdalpur - Chitrakote - Nagarnar
After breakfast you will be heading out for the famous Chitrakote Falls (171 kms) the Niagara -like horseshoe waterfall created by Bastar's Indravati River. You'll have plenty of time to take pictures and be mesmerized by the rainbows arching across the turbulent flow. On your way back for lunch at the hotel stop at the Anthropological Museum to give you an interesting insight into Bastar's tribal culture. After lunch ll drive to Nagarnar, famous for its terra cotta handicrafts. Vrindavan, one of the local craftsman, participated in the Festival of India held in London in 1981. Enjoy. You'll be back in the hotel for dinner.

Day 04 : Jagadalpur
In the morning visit a 'haat' (weekly market) where you can enjoy a slice of local life. After lunch at the hotel, explore the town, or relax and do your own thing.

Day 05 : Jagdalpur - Narayanpur - Raipur
Today you will be returning to Raipur. En route side trip to Narayanpur, which is known for its excellent handicrafts. The bell metal, wood, wrought iron and bamboo artifacts are wonderful. Another interesting place here is the Ramakrishna Mission centre, where you can meet some of the people involved in very valuable welfare work amongst the tribal people. We spend the night at Raipur.

Day 6 : Raipur
Wake up at leisure -enjoy your breakfast and relax till departure.

Day 05 : Cinque Islands
Boat cruise to the beautiful underwater coral gardens and unspoiled beaches of north Cinque islands. Great place to swim, snorkel or for scuba diving. The hillock provides a fabulous view of the isolated island, submerged corals and the scintillating sunset. Overnight at Neil.

Day 06 : Port Blair
Morning free in the lush mangroves surrounding the island. At leisure at the picturesque beach and creeks. Later arrive at Port Blair. Check into the beach resort. Overnight at Port Blair.

Day 7 :
Fly Port Blair / Calcutta or Madras / Delhi.

Day 06 : Pipelkoti - Auli Buggial 
Spectacular drive to Auli Commanding a stuning view MT Kament Nandakot, Trishul Range and above all the mighty Nanda Devi 

Day 07 : Auli
Full day to explore or rest Camp fire . Overnight stay in camp

Day 08 : Auli - Govindahat - Gangria 
Leave early morning towards Govindghat from here our there days trek starts, after trekking for about 13 kms. we camp at Gangria.

Day 09 : Gangria - Valley of Flowers

Today trek to valley of flowers, a 4 kms trek passes through dense forests and then open meadow. Arrive valley of Flowers and after lunch you will be given time to explore before we trek back to Gangria.

Day 10 : Gangria - Joshimath 
Retrace the route - Arrive Joshimath stay in Hotel for overnight .

Day 11 : Joshimath - Augustmuni 
Drive to Augustmuni via Rudraprayag and camp for overnight.

Day 12 : Augustmuni - Rishikesh 
Drive to Rishikesh and transfer to Hotel overnight stay.

Day 13 : Rishikesh - Delhi Out
